Letter From Joe Peterson

Dear Loyal Customers…

It is difficult for me to believe that on Monday, March 30th, Peterson's will be celebrating our tenth year in business… where does the time go? To mark this special occasion, we will be celebrating a special evening with you as our honored dinner guests, along with Governor and Mrs. Mitch Daniels.

When we opened our doors at Peterson's, a decade ago, we did so with a hope and a prayer for success. Our prayers have thankfully been answered with your support and trust. Our goal has been, and continues to be, to offer you something like no other restaurant. Our staff sincerely cares about your happiness, we offer the best steaks and seafood, and a refreshing one-of-a-kind ambiance.

We know that when you spend your valuable time and money to go out to dinner, you have the right to expect excellence in food and service. Peterson's Staff continues to strive for this excellence. Please continue to complete our comment cards, or email us to let us know how we are performing and how we can serve you better.

Our exciting new Spring Menu will be unveiled by Executive Chef Jeff Heaviland soon. Please do not miss his fantastic Indiana State Sugar Cream Pie!

To provide our guests with something extra special on Mothers' Day, Peterson's will be open on a Sunday for the first time in nine years. Please join us on Sunday, May 10th, for an exceptional menu that will be prepared and served from 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. A detailed email announcement will be coming in April, but please make your reservations now as we are sure to reach capacity quickly.

Spring brings with it warm weather and an exciting fresh new menu at Peterson's. Around the second week of April, you can look forward to many splendid dishes, including new appetizers like a charcuterie plate with house-made meats and excellent cheeses. Changes to the seafood offerings will be extensive, but don't worry... everyone's favorite scallop dish will still be available!

We will have exciting meat dishes to tempt you as well. Last, but certainly not least, several new desserts will be featured, including fresh fruits, decadent Sugar Cream Pie, and chocolate recipes that will delightfully make your head spin. Please hurry in to try some of the items we are currently serving, and then treat yourself to the new offerings of Spring later in April.

Will you be joining us on March 30th for our special 10th Anniversary Celebration? If you haven't already done so, please make your reservations now so you don't miss our 20% discounts on food that evening. Your complimentary serving of our famous Rich Flourless Chocolate Torte will be waiting as well. It's just our way of saying thank you!

Our February wine dinner was an outstanding success. We look forward to sharing more fabulous food and wine in May. Please keep watching our website and your email for our next wine dinner announcement.

Sophia's Cuvee – Worthy Cellar, Napa Valley

Hooray... we made it to Spring and just in time to enjoy a fantastic new find! This phenomenal California, Napa Valley Cabernet, called Sophia's Cuvee, is from the winemaker of the Worthy Cellar Label. This wine offers an elegant taste that doesn't cost a fortune!

Sophia's Cuvee is brought to you by Constantine "Gus" Kalaris, owner of Constantine and Axios Wines. Worthy Cellar's selection is a concept that was developed to produce quality Napa Valley Wines at less than half the price of other boutique wineries. By design, it is an incredible value.

As only the very best grapes are used to make Worthy Cellar Wines, the blend of Sophia's Cuvee changes somewhat from year to year. The 2005 is 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc. Exhibiting a dark garnet color with aromas of plum and blackberry, it offers hints of chocolate and plenty of oak. On the palate, flavors of plums, dark cherries, and dark chocolate lead the way with cassis and mocha, all wrapped in fine, velvety tannins with a smooth finish. Sophia's Cuvee is an absolutely delicious wine that will be a perfect complement to your dinner at Peterson's!

A Message from the General Manager

I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank the Peterson Family for giving me the opportunity to lead and watch over a business that means so much to so many people. I have been involved with Peterson's since our opening in March of 1999, and have contributed in many positions during these last ten years. I fondly remember working with Karl Benko to build dining room tables, assemble kitchen equipment, and even count silverware while the drywall was still going up.

Having a restaurant full of happy guests, today and over the past decade, is such a rewarding experience for myself and all the staff here at Peterson's. Being in business for ten years as an independent, fine-dining restaurant, doing business in a city dominated by national chains, is quite an accomplishment. I sincerely look forward to many more years to come!

I hope you will be joining us on March 30th for our 10th Anniversary Celebration. Don't miss this milestone, as well as an enjoyable evening of Monika Herzig playing jazz during dinner. Friends and loyal supporters, thank you for the memories and continuing to make new ones with us...
